Phoenix Education Trust held a successful art show last Sunday (15th May) in order to celebrate National Children’s Day.
The event was held at Park School on the Dartington estate which has an important role in the Trust’s history. It was there, in the now closed Dartington School, that our founder Michael Young received a democratic education and would later go on to have a glittering political history before setting up the charity in 2001.
We welcomed around 40-50 students, parents and locals from the area to view over 50 pieces of art from various schools including Sands School, Park School and Oaklands School in Bethnal Green.
National Children's Day promotes the importance of a healthy childhood and protecting the rights and freedoms of children in order to ensure that they can grow into happy, healthy adults. It is a day that relates to the core of what Phoenix Education Trust stands for and we were proud to hold such a successful event.
We look forward to holding similar events in other regions of the UK in the near future.
